Aantekening
From Oom Edwin's History of the Clan Mac Gillavry: (HENRI P.Th.E.) married the immensely wealthy LOUISE HENRIETTE ELISABETH Horst. Her father, JOHAN HENDRIK Horst, was a very colorful character. He was half Chinese, for his mother, JOE NIE (pronounced Yu Ni), came from Canton (his father's name was HUYBERTUS-i.e.Hubert-Horst). As architect, he built the Great Church (the Willemskerk) in Batavia (Jakarta). He took great care to befriend successive Governor Generals. From one of them he won at hombre a beautiful antique English clock, which is still a family heirloom…He knew everybody worth knowing. As dowry he gave his daughter 100,000 guilders in cash, a huge sum in those days, and many jewels. She also received the large and very profitable sugar enterprise Gending nearProbolinggo on Java. At her wedding, LOUISE even wore real diamonds on her shoes. She was a formidable lady. Her daughters adored her, her daughters-in-law did not. She used to say: "I love my daughters' children more than those of my daughters-in-law; at least I know for certain that the former are mine."
